    Nabil Equity Fund (NEF), a closed-end mutual fund with a 7-year duration and a total size of Rs. 1.25 Arba, is set to reach its maturity date on the 18th of Kartik, 2080. This fund is managed by Nabil Investment Banking Limited, with Nabil Bank Limited serving as the fund’s sponsor. Notably, the fund has consistently provided dividends to its investors over the past three fiscal years.

    Upon reaching the end of its maturity period, the trading of shares of this mutual fund will be halted, and investors will receive their share of the investment after the mutual fund sells off all its holdings. This includes shares, debentures, and non-listed shares, and the proceeds will be distributed proportionally among the unit holders. As of Ashwin, the latest Net Asset Value (NAV) of the fund stands at Rs. 10.33.

    Avasar Equity Diversified Fund Invests in Two Hydropower Projects in Nepal’s Dolakha District


    Avasar Equity Diversified Fund, Nepal’s first domestic Private Equity Fund registered with the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), has recently entered into an investment agreement with Him Parbat Hydropower Limited. Under this agreement, the Fund will invest NPR 39.06 crore in the development of two Run-of-river hydropower projects in Dolakha District of Bagmati Province.

    The investment will be directed towards the Sagu Khola – 1 Hydropower Project, with a capacity of 5.5 MW, and the Sagu Khola Hydropower Project, with a capacity of 20 MW. Both projects have already concluded Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) on a take-or-pay basis. It is anticipated that the combined energy generation from these projects will amount to approximately 149 GWh per year.

    To connect the power generated by the projects to the national grid, a connection will be established through the Singati Substation. The projects have a target Commercial Operation Date set for Chaitra 29, 2081 (April 12, 2025).

    By providing financial support for these projects, the investment from Avasar Equity Diversified Fund aims to ensure their timely completion and contribute to Nepal’s commitment to clean and sustainable energy sources.

    The “Sunrise Focused Equity Fund” is a closed-end fund with a 10-year maturity horizon. On the 10th of Magh, Sunrise Capital allocated its Sunrise Focused Equity Fund. Nevertheless, the close-ended mutual fund received just 10 crore unit mutual fund applications out of the 12 crores available, forcing the fund manager to decrease the fund’s corpus to Rs 1 Arba.

    The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has approved Three Star Hydropower Limited’s proposed initial public offering (IPO) on Chaitra 17.

    The company will now issue 1,231,250 equity shares with NPR 100 par value each. The issue is worth Rs. 12.31 crore. This is equivalent to 25% of the company’s issued capital. After the IPO, the company’s total paid-up capital would be Rs 49.25 crores.

    The Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has approved Rawa Energy Development Limited’s proposed initial public offering (IPO) on Falgun 25.

    The company will now issue 840,000 equity shares at NPR 100 per share. The issue is worth Rs. 8.4 crore. This is equivalent to 30% of the company’s issued capital. The company’s total paid-up capital following the IPO allotment would be Rs 28 crores.

    Prabhu Capital Limited has been appointed as the proposed IPO’s issue manager.

    Prabhu Bank Ltd is the fund promoter of this plan, while Prabhu Capital Limited is the scheme manager. This is a closed-ended plan. This scheme will invest 35 to 90 percent of the proceeds from unit sales in shares, making it an equity-oriented scheme.

    Prabhu Bank Limited has obtained 1.12 crore units out of a total of 8 crore units available, while Prabhu Capital Limited has secured 8 lakh units.

    Bhugol Energy Development Company Limited was formed as a private limited company on February 16, 2009, and was later converted to a public limited company on October 31, 2017, to allow for public participation. The company operates the 3.75-MW Dwari Khola Small Hydropower Project in Nepal’s Dailekh District, Karnali Province. The project began commercial operations on May 6, 2017, ahead of the required COD of June 30, 2017, and was built at a total cost of NPR 734 million (NPR 196 million per MW) with an initial debt-to-equity ratio of 82:18.
