    Life insurance companies are currently in a strong competition to increase their premium collections. In the fiscal year 2079/80, until the month of Ashad, they collected a significant amount of Rs. 1.42 Kharba in premiums. This achievement was made possible by the hard work across 1.41 crore active insurance policies.

    According to a report from the Nepal Insurance Authority, Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited is leading with the highest number of active policies, at 3,344,435. National Life Insurance Company Limited comes next with 1,609,278 policies. On the lower side, Mahalaxmi Life Insurance has 35,015 active policies.

    Nabil Equity Fund (NEF) has released its monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) report for the month of Ashad. The latest NAV is Rs. 10.82, showing an increase from the previous month’s Rs. 10.37. The fund, which started with a size of Rs. 1.25 Arba, has allocated Rs. 75.86 crores in shares of listed companies and Rs. 1.4 crores in non-listed shares. Additionally, it has invested Rs. 37.5 crore in fixed deposit schemes and Rs. 11.02 crore in debentures. NEF also holds Rs. 8.37 crores in bank balance.

    NIBL Pragati Fund (NIBLPF), a 7-year closed-end mutual fund scheme, has reported an increase in its Net Asset Value (NAV) for the month of Ashad.

    The financial report reveals that the NAV of the mutual fund scheme has risen to Rs. 10.68 at the end of Ashad, 2080, compared to Rs. 10.28 in the previous month. The scheme began with a total fund of Rs. 75 crore and made investments of Rs. 49.40 crore in listed shares and Rs. 14.46 crore in public issues, right shares, and bonus shares. It also holds Rs. 15.35 crores in its bank balance.

    NIC Asia Balanced Fund (NICBF), a 10-year close-end mutual fund scheme managed by NIC Asia Capital, has released its financial highlights for the month of Ashad. The Net Asset Value (NAV) for the period is Rs. 11.28, showing an increase from Rs. 10.96 a month ago.

    At the beginning of the scheme, the total fund size was Rs. 75.50 crores, which included seed capital from the fund sponsor. NICBF has made investments of Rs. 39.22 crores in shares of listed companies and Rs. 21.77 crores in debentures. Additionally, it has invested Rs. 50.98 lakhs in non-listed shares, while maintaining a bank balance of Rs. 22.16 crores.

As of Ashad, the fund size has grown to Rs. 1.24 Arba from Rs. 1.17 Arba in the previous month. The Net Asset Value (NAV) in Ashad is Rs. 9.52, showing an increase from Rs. 9.25 in the previous month. The fund’s investments include Rs. 80.74 crore in listed shares, Rs. 63.58 lakhs in public issues, and Rs. 16.05 crore in fixed deposits. Moreover, the fund has Rs. 14.22 crores in the bank and holds bond/debentures worth Rs. 6.76 crores.

    Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) is conducting an auction to sell 11,16,616.187 units of promoter shares to the general public. The auction will take place from 29th Ashad to 12th Shrawan, 2080. The auction is open to existing promoters, the general public, and institutions. The minimum bid rate is Rs. 100, and bidders must bid for a minimum quantity of 1000 units. However, there is a limit on the number of shares that each entity can bid for, as per the rules of the Nepal Rastra Bank. Prabhu Capital has been appointed as the auction manager.

It is important to note that if the issue is not fully subscribed by the early closing date, it may be extended until Shrawan 17 for the locals of Dolakha District. However, the early closing date will remain fixed for Nepalese citizens working abroad, and no extension will be granted beyond that date.

    Sana Kisan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SKBBL) and RMDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (RMDC), both licensed financial institutions in Nepal, have successfully completed their merger process. The merger was approved through a special resolution passed separately by the Annual General Meetings (AGMs) of both companies. The swap ratio of 1:0.87 was endorsed, meaning that shareholders who previously owned 100 shares of RMDC Microfinance would now receive 87 shares of the merged entity. Furthermore, the merger has obtained final permission from regulatory bodies including the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), and the Office of the Registrar of Companies, as per the official letter received.

    Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL) has scheduled its 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) to take place on the 22nd of Ashad, 2080. The AGM will be held at The Dhulikhel Lodge Resort in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchowk, starting at 11 AM.

    One of the key agenda items to be discussed and endorsed during the meeting is the distribution of a 15% dividend for the fiscal year 2078/79. The board of directors has proposed to distribute the dividend based on the company’s paid-up capital of Rs. 13.20 crores. This includes 10% bonus shares worth Rs. 1.32 crores and a 5% cash dividend amounting to Rs. 66 lakhs. Additionally, the election of four directors from the promoter shareholding group and two directors from the public shareholding group will be conducted.

    The AGM will also cover the endorsement of the auditor’s report, including profit and loss statements, financial reports, and cash flow reports. An auditor for the fiscal year 2079/80 will be appointed, and full authority will be granted to the Board of Directors or a designated person to carry out any necessary tasks related to mergers, acquisitions, and amendments to the Articles of Association.

    It is important to note that the book closure date has been set for Ashad 14. Therefore, shareholders who are recorded before this date will be eligible for the dividend payout and are invited to attend the AGM.
