Xiaomi has maintained its position as the top smartphone company for the fourth quarter in a row.


According to the Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Q3 2021 release from renowned market research firm IDC, Xiaomi has surpassed Apple to become the number one smartphone business in Nepal. Xiaomi is a worldwide technology leader operations in over 100 countries.


“We are overjoyed to have been ranked the number one smartphone manufacturer in Nepal for four consecutive quarters, according to IDC,” Sourabh Kothari, Country General Manager – Xiaomi, Nepal, stated. It has been an honor to receive the love and support of our Mi Fans, and we look forward to continuing our efforts and meeting all gold standards that we have set for ourselves in the future.”

The of several products across price ranges, such as the Poco F3, Redmi Note 10 Prime series, POCO F3 GT, and others, helped the brand achieve substantial growth in the market. Also in Nepal, the company introduced 30 new ecosystem items such as a Mi Watch Lite and TV Stick as well as a Trimmer and Band 6. Other products include Sonic Bass Wireless earphones, Powerbanks, a Portable Speaker, and the Mi Pad 5.

Aside from that, the brand’s offline expansion contributed to the overall expansion of the company. To date, Xiaomi has established more than 2000 offline partner stores and 600 Mi Preferred Partner stores around Nepal, further solidifying their position in the country. The company currently has a well-developed distribution network that spans multiple sites throughout Nepal. Their position in the has also been strengthened through a robust after-sales service network comprised of exclusive service facilities as well as a dedicated service warehouse to meet the needs of customers in Nepal. This has enabled Xiaomi to gain a larger market share than it did during the previous quarter.
