    There are four businesses that have been shortlisted to place a satellite in orbit for Nepal.

    Four businesses have been shortlisted to carry out the research necessary to Nepal’s own satellite into space, according to the announcement.

    The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has picked four international companies out of eight that a and financial proposal to the agency earlier this month.

    Euro Consult of France, Turksat of Turkey, S3Tel Inc of the United Arab Emirates, and Thaicom of Thailand are among the companies on the shortlist.     The government has established a goal of having the country’s own satellite operational by 2022, and it has also released a policy to that effect in July of this year.
