Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has asked responsible officials to develop and successfully implement a work plan for tripling inland revenue.
Minister Sharma emphasised that the current work style cannot contribute to the country’s prosperity and that domestic revenue must be increased.
On Thursday, he stated this during a meeting with the Department of Inland Revenue at the ministry. Minister Sharma promised the officials that they will receive assistance in the form of human resources, technology, and training in order to fulfil the income objective.
Similarly, the Department was asked how it could create a culture in which taxpayers were drawn to taxpayers.
“The environment for them should be set in such a way that it encourages them to pay tax,” he said again. The Minister believes that the moment has arrived to assess the country’s assets.
“How about monitoring the country’s property? What is the difference between property owned by citizens and property owned by the government? “A plan to examine it is required,” he stated.
On this occasion, Finance Secretary Madhukumar Marasini stated that revenue is the national economy’s lifeline.
He intimated that the income collection aim could be modified. Marasini, the Secretary of Tax, advised the revenue offices to adopt digital.
