The NEPSE index ended the day at 2,662.58, down 18.53 points from the previous trading day’s close. Last Wednesday, the index increased by 68.47 points.
The index started the day at 2,687.19 and hit an intraday high of 2,718.53. It dropped as low as 2,654.75, but eventually closed at 2,662.58.
The turnover value was Rs. 4.49 Arba, with a total of 7,251,744 shares changing hands. This is lower than the Rs. 4.5 Arba turnover on the previous Wednesday. In 54,123 trades, 220 scrips changed hands.
With a turnover of Rs. 18.93 crores and a market price of Rs. 5,249.80 per share, Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBSL) had the greatest turnover. The most actively traded stocks were those of Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited (NBB).
Today, two scrips struck the 10% positive circuit breaker, with Shivam Cements Limited (SHIVM) losing the most at 6.46 percent.
Only three sectors gained, while the rest finished in the red. The Mutual Fund gained the greatest, although only by 0.76 percent. Manufacturing and Products had the highest losses, falling 3.16 percent.
