The NEPSE index finished at 2,633.42 points today, down 32.51 points from its previous closing point yesterday. Yesterday, the index had increased by 50.58 points.
The index began the day at 2,667.45 and reached an intraday high of 2,687.02 at the close. However, the index proceeded to decline from there, and it fell as low as 2,630.58 before finally finishing at 2,633.42.
During the period under review, a total of 7,321,014 shares were traded, resulting in a turnover amount of Rs. 3.7 Arba. This represents a decrease from the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 5.028 Arba. A total of 49,835 transactions took place involving 225 scrips.
Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) had the largest turnover, with Rs. 12 crores in sales at a market price of Rs. 492 per share, and was the most profitable company. The most actively traded stocks were those of Mega Bank Nepal Limited (MEGA).
Three stocks have technically breached the 10 percent positive circuit breaker today, with Goodwill Finance Company Limited (GFCL) suffering the greatest loss of 6.86 percent of its value.
Only three industries saw gains today. Trading had the most gain of 3.93 percent, while Development Bank had the worst loss of 3.18 percent.
