The NEPSE index finished at 2,685.41 points today, down 73.05 points from its previous closing point. Yesterday, the index had dropped by 61.27 points.
The index began the day at 2,762.60 and reached an intraday high of 2,769.10 before falling down to 2,762.60. However, it proceeded to fall from there, reaching a low of 2,678.36 dollars. After then, the index ended up closing at 2,685.41 points.
A total of 10,478,068 shares were exchanged, resulting in a turnover value of Rs. 5.120 Arba (Rs. 10,478,068 shares). This represents a decrease from the previous day’s turnover of Rs. 6.5 Arba. A total of 67,587 transactions took place involving 227 scrips.
At Rs. 492 per share, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) had the greatest turnover with Rs. 15.49 crores. It was the most profitable company with a turnover of Rs. 15.49 crores. Its stock was also the most actively traded.
MKLB, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (MKJC), and Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MKLB) all reached the 10 percent positive circuit breaker today, while Goodwill Finance Company Limited (GFCL) suffered the worst loss, falling by 7.83 percent today.
Today’s market closed in the red across the board. The finance industry suffered the most, losing 4.53 percent.
