The NEPSE index finished at 2,577.49 points today, down 55.93 points from its previous closing point on Thursday. The index had dropped 32.51 points the previous Thursday.
The index began the day at 2,637.35 and reached an intraday high of 2,640.40 before falling down to 2,637.35. It proceeded to fall after that, as the index fell as low a 2,573.3 before finally reaching a low of 2,577.3 and ultimately finishing at 2,577.49.
A total of 8,948,937 shares were traded, resulting in a total turnover of Rs. 4.113 Arba (Rs. 8.948,937 shares). This represents an increase above the previous Thursday’s turnover of Rs. 3.7 Arba. A total of 52,391 trades took place involving 232 scrips.
Api Power Company Limited (API) had the largest turnover at Rs. 15.06 crores, and the stock closed at a market price of Rs. 434 per share, the highest in the industry. The most actively traded stocks were those of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC).
By gaining 9.97 percent today, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (MKJC) achieved a technical break over the 10 percent positive circuit breaker, while Guheswori Merchant Banking & Finance Limited (GMFIL) suffered the worst loss, losing 9.19 percent.
All industries suffered losses, with finance suffering the greatest drop (4.33 percent).
