Nepal’s labor minister has urged the Romanian envoy to complete the finalization of the Nepal-Romania labor agreement.
Daniela Sezonov Ten, the newly appointed Romanian Ambassador to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Krishna Kumar Shrestha, the Minister for Labor, Employment, and Social Security, during her visit.
The issues of mutual relations and bilateral interests between Nepal and Romania were reviewed at the meeting, which took place on Thursday at the Ministry of Finance.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Minister Shrestha has requested Ambassador Daniela to make the appropriate arrangements to give visas to Nepalis who wish to work in Romania from their home country, urging her to expedite the process. At the moment, Nepali people who wish to travel to Romania must first obtain a visa in New Delhi before departing.
Minister Shrestha reminded the Romanian government that Nepal had developed a bilateral labor agreement and had given it over to them, and he requested them to assist in finalizing and implementing the deal. In the previous five years alone, 7,618 Nepalis have traveled to Romania on work visas, according to the Romanian government.
As part of the meeting, Ambassador Daniela stated that the Romanian government is willing to work with Nepal on the issues that have been highlighted so far.
