A government team will travel to Melamchi to conduct a complete geological survey of the area. Because the monsoon is active across the country, Melamchi is at risk of dry landslides and mudslides.
The team had previously visited in Melamchi for a preliminary assessment of the area. It is planned to leave for there again tomorrow for the thorough study, according to reports.
The five-member squad includes three from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and two from the Department of Mines and Geology, according to Ram Prasad Ghimire, Director General of the Department of Mines and Geology.
The senior divisional geologist of the Department is in charge of it.
Melamchi Bazaar was devastated by the River’s deadly flood on June 15, and it also experienced a significant flood a few days ago.
