Japan has provided a concessional loan in the amount of Rs 10.47 billion.


An agreement on concessional loan assistance worth Rs 10.47 billion has been reached between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Japan. The loan assistance is being by the latter in order to promote economic growth in Nepal and to support development efforts being undertaken by the government of Nepal. This agreement was and exchanged today, and it is effective immediately.

The and Records of Discussion were and exchanged on behalf of their respective governments by Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini and Ambassador of Japan to Nepal KIKUTA Yutaka, who was also present. As previously reported by the Ministry of Finance, the loan agreement to this effect was also signed by Ishwori Prasad Aryal, Joint Secretary, International Economic Cooperation Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance, and Yumiko, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Nepal, according to the ministry.
