Two of the country’s main insurance companies have planned to unite in order to become the largest insurance company in Nepal. Himalayan General Insurance and Sagarmatha Insurance Company have decided to merge as soon as possible.
This will be the country’s first insurance industry merger.
Sagarmatha now has a paid-up capital of Rs 1.001 billion, whereas Himalayan has a paid-up capital of Rs 1.068 billion. As a result, once they join, the new firm will undoubtedly be the largest insurance company in the country.
