From tomorrow, TIA will extend domestic flight times to 18 hours.


To accommodate expanding air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has increased existing domestic flying duration to 18 hours per day (TIA).

The TIA has made essential preparations to conduct domestic flights up to 18 hours per day in six airports in Nepal’s Terai area starting tomorrow, according to shared Director-General Engineer Pradeep Adhikari.

The CAAN has planned to operate the airports in Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.

He explained that this will assist relieve existing air burden at Kathmandu airport as well as provide relief to the tourism sector, which has hit hard by the pandemic.
