Birgunj Transport Office Collects Over Rs 1.5 Billion in FY 2023/24


The Transport Management Office in Birgunj reported a substantial revenue collection of over Rs 1.5 billion for the Fiscal Year 2023/24. This marks an impressive increase of Rs 171.9 million compared to the Rs 1.35 billion collected in the previous fiscal year, according to Kamal Raj Gautam, Chief of the Transport Management Office, Birgunj.

The majority of the revenue, amounting to Rs 1.19 billion, was generated from vehicle-related fees. An additional Rs 150 million came from vehicle permits.

During this fiscal year, the office registered a total of 2,229 vehicles, which included buses, trucks, and machinery. Alongside these, 645 smaller vehicles like cars, jeeps, microbuses, and ambulances were also registered. Moreover, 747 motorcycles and scooters were added to the registry.

In total, the Transport Management Office, Birgunj, recorded the registration of 38,456 new vehicles during FY 2023/24, reflecting strong growth in vehicle registrations and revenue collection.
