In honour of late industrialist Mahendra Golcha, an Industrial Study Centre is being established.
Morang Industry Association and Purbanchal University are collaborating to construct the Mahendra Golcha Industrial Study Centre. The Centre will conduct research and study on various aspects of economic development.
On Friday, the Association and the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to that goal. President of the Association Suyash Pyakurel stated at the signing ceremony that the goal was to use academic knowledge in the economic and industrial sectors through study and research in the area.
He further stated that the centre would help advance the study, research, and learning process by developing academic and professional ties between the institution and industry.
Pyakurel expressed optimism that the study centre would encourage university students to pursue scientific research and policy analysis in the economic and industrial sectors.
Dr. Yadav Raj Koirala, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, stated that the agreement made between the two parties would aid in identifying industry concerns through research and offering policy recommendations.
He also stated that fresh entrepreneurship should be encouraged in order to achieve great economic and social growth. The Institution’s Dr. Biju Thapaliya stated that the Center would bring a new dimension to the industrial sector’s policymaking, policy debate, and advocacy while also providing an environment for industrialists and the university to connect.
Professor Thapaliya serves as the center’s coordinator, with Indra Khatri (Rajan) serving as the joint coordinator, Yukti Golchha, Prof Devi Bhattarai, Prashant Kumar Lalar serving as members, and Chudamani Bhattarai serving as the member secretary.
